HELPING STUDENTS IN THE VILLAGE

Gujarat is a developing state in India and has a fast growing population. The Ghaludi Elementary School is in Velanja, a small village in the state. The students and the teachers primarily speak and learn in Gujarati.

The Situation - December 2022

25 students, grades 3-5, at Ghaludi received little to no funding from the government to maintain the school. Although they had some supplies, they were in need of new writing utensils and notebooks. There is no nearby school supply store for teachers to buy more items when needed.

The Positive Outcome

G2 GIVE GLOBAL delivered 70 pounds of school supplies. Every student received a backpack with supplies like a sketchbook, a notebook, a folder, colored pencils, pencils, crayons, erases, and glue. G2 GIVE GLOBAL also gave the teachers extra supplies to replenish when needed as well as a few soccer balls and footballs for the kids.

G2 GIVE GLOBAL volunteers also taught the students how to play with the soccer balls and colored pictures with the students in their sketchbooks.
