HELPING CHILDREN IN ISOLATED VILLAGE
This remote eastern village of Bugiri is especially isolated and overlooked. The vast majority of aid given is by foreigners traveling to western Uganda. In the village, families speak Lusoga.
The Situation - June 2023
These 42 children in Bugiri lacked basic necessities as well as school supplies because the area is extremely impoverished and isolated compared to the rest of the country.
The Positive Outcome
G2 GIVE GLOBAL delivered 90 pounds of school supplies to the ecstatic kids. Each child received a backpack with notebooks, colored pencils, pencils, crayons, journals, erasers, and pencil sharpeners. We also brought a lot of hats and balls for the students as well.
G2 GIVE GLOBAL volunteers talked about the importance of education and giving back. In addition, we handed out the supplies and helped prepare a meal for the entire village that took several hours. We also played games with the children.
